Description: Pretty vintage hand thrown redware pottery pitcher made in Portugal during the 1980's. The pitcher stands 6 1/2" high, 6 1/4" from spout to handle, and 5 1/8" wide across the top. It is hand painted in white with blue grapes and grape vines around the center. The handle has been left the natural red terracotta clay color as has the bottom. The top edge is an oval shape and has a molded ice lip. The body of the pitcher is round and is 5" at its widest point. The pitcher is nice and sturdy weighing over 2 1/4 pounds. It holds 40 fluid ounces (5 cups). The bottom is signed "Made in Portugal" along with a name I can't decipher. It is in excellent undamaged condition with no chips or cracks. Lovely to use for serving your favorite beverage, perfect for Sangria, as a vase or to simply display.
