Description: This is a Vintage Hand Painted Chinese Plaster Head produced for the Peking Opera. This plaster head was produced in China in the late 1960’s to mid-1970's and is at least 50 years old. Please note the fine / colorful facial detail and long black beard. This plaster head was purchased in Penang, Malaysia by my father in the 1980 from an antique shop (no longer exists) located close to the historic E & O Hotel. The shop owner specialized in Peranakan (Nnonya / Baba) items & indicated that he purchased an inventory of these plaster heads from one of the last remaining mainland Chinese suppliers in existence at the time. Please review all pictures prior to purchase. These painted plaster heads are aged and therefore not in perfect condition - buyers will note there may be some paint missing and a few plaster chips. Imperfections be easily addressed with a bit of touch-up paint. Plaster Head Dimensions: 2 3/4 inches wide at the base and 4 inches long. Length of Head with Beard extended is 10 inches.
