Description: Backflap missing, otherwise a very fine cover. Hampden machines were used sparingly from the first experimental machine in New York in early 1896 until the last machine was retired in 1906. The machines generally did not perform well and many were used for a very short time, often only weeks or months. Strong, complete impressions on clean covers are the exception, not the rule. If you are looking for a certain Hampden that I have not listed, let me know, as I have a strong stock of these markings. IF YOU MAKE MULTIPLE PURCHASES WITHIN A FEW DAYS OF EACH OTHER, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE SO POSTAGE CAN BE CALCULATED PROPERLY! THANKS! I am a 30 year member of the American Philatelic Society and also belong to numerous other philatelic societies. Please bid with confidence. I will do my best to accurately describe items and answer questions. Multiple items that are bought close to the same time may have shipping combined. All items are well packaged. Non Paypal payments in US$ gladly accepted. Contact me for details. International shipments on items over $25 will be shipped with registered mail for an additional fee of $17, unless arrangements are made beforehand. Because of ridiculous Paypal dispute resolution mechanisms, sellers have NO protection unless a signature is required upon delivery. Alternative payment methods are not subject to this condition. International bidders, please consider this before bidding.
