Description: Maker: This lovely purple and white footed cup and saucer is marked with the green backstamp of Hammersley & Co, the iconic Stoke-on-Trent, England, china factory. Hammersley began production in 1932. In 1976 it merged with Royal Worcester, and the Hammersley brand was retired in 1982. Design: The pretty and finely detailed pattern features clusters of beautifully hand painted heather against a pure white background of fine bone china. The set is trimmed in gold. The handwritten pattern number 4060 is on the cup's base. Size: The cup is 2 3/4 inches tall and 4 inches wide; the saucer is 5 7/8 inches wide. The set weighs 8 ounces. Condition: Both pieces are in excellent condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, marks, stains or repairs. There are several embedded dark spots on the cup that were created in the manufacturing process. They're shown in the photos.
