The sensor’s wavelength sensitivity ranges from the UV to the near-IR, with peak sensitivity of >60% quantum efficiency at ~450 to 500 nm. The sensor features low readout noise of 3 electrons rms, typical. Its design keeps the readout noise minimal, even at readout speeds ranging from 45 fps at full resolution to 1273 fps with subarray readout. The image sensor has a wide dynamic range of 4500:1.Two IEEE1394b (FireWire) interfaces offer low-cost communication and power, while external trigger options enable seamless integration with the OEM customer’s equipment. The camera is suitable for a variety of imaging applications, including life sciences imaging; high-speed calcium imaging; and Förster resonance energy transfer, fluorescence in situ hybridization, total internal reflection fluorescence and real-time confocal microscopy.
