Description: This is for a good 87" mobile, top loaded CB/10 meter antenna. This is a Shakespeare antenna. This is a quality American made fiberglass antenna. Shakespeare only now makes marine and military antennas. They no longer make a CB antenna due to the cost and high price they charge. This is a non-tapered top-loaded antenna with a 14" top load. The fiberglass antenna is thick to prevent fold-over at high speeds, if using this without a spring. There is no visible conductor going to the top load leading me to believe that it is center fed. There is a heavy black PVC covering. These are commercial quality. These antennas came from a closed out Commercial 2-way radio dealership. Unknown what these antennas were meant to be used for. Checking the frequency using an antenna analyser, I get a perfect, 1.2 to 1 reading, or better, @ 50 ohms on the following frequencies: 151.16; 40.62; 70.44; 120.75 and 23.417 Mhz. The 23 Mhz frequency seems to be a little wider banded than the other frequencies stated above. My guess these were made for CB. They are not listed in the old Shakespeare catalogs. The top cap can be removed and the loading coil can be easily cut to your CB frequency. Shipping is costly due to length (87"). Stamped on the 3/8 X 24" furl mounting has the words "Wounder Shaft". By cutting about 4 inches, it will become closer to the CB frequency as the shorter the loading coil, the higher frequency it will go. I have 9 of these; order several to save.Flat-rate shipping: $ 67.00 for one. $8.00 for each other.
