Description: HOBBY MASTER - HA5707B - 1/72 SU-35S FLANKER E RUSSIAN KNIGHTS, RUSSIAN AIR AND SPACE FORCE (VKS) NOV 2019 - IN STOCK The Russian Knights (Russkiye Vityazi) aerobatic team was established on April 5, 1991 using personnel and equipment from the 237th Guards Proskurov Aircraft Demonstration Center at Kubinka. The new team was equipped with six Su-27s but in 2017 they were replaced by the twin-seat Su-30SM wearing an updated paint scheme. On November 7, 2019 the team received four new Su-35S aircraft (50, 51, 52, 53) that would be used in conjunction with the Su-30SMs depending on the air show. The Russian Knights Su-35S aircraft are standard factory equipped.Sukhoi Su-35S Flanker-EDesigned by the Soviet Union to challenge the superiority of fourth generation US fighters such as the F-15 Eagle, the Su-27 was first flown on May 20, 1977. This one seat Mach-2 fighter had the Soviet Union's first operational fly-by-wire system. The aircraft is very large compared to the MiG-29, its closest Soviet counterpart, but it is built with a high percentage of titanium, which helps minimize its weight.
