Description: RARE H-U-G-E 20" REVOLUTIONARY WAR PERIOD COMPANY POWDER HORN DESCRIPTION: This is a really nice & unusual antique Revolutionary War period COMPANY SIZE POWDER HORN from my personal collection. It measures 20" long along its length or 17" from tip to tip, AND IS THE LARGEST ONE I HAVE EVER SEEN. This was used to distribute gun powder to each individual rifleman's horns for use with their individual flintlock muskets. This one has nice curves and a nice shape, has a nicely carved pouring end. Pouring end is unusual and VERY MUCH THE STYLE OF A REVOLUTIONARY WAR POWDER HORN. Has a number of nice early tiny handmade iron nails to hold the wooden butt plug in. BUTT PLUG FiTS NICELY. This has all the attributes, design, style, patina, size, and look of a Revolutionary War period horn. Has really nice color, markings, and horn characteristics. HAS A PARTICULARLY NICE CURVE AND TWIST TO IT. Has a great look, for addition to a collection or to hang with a musket over a fireplace. Nice condition, as shown, and THE LARGEST ONE YOU WILL EVER FIND!! A particularly nice horn, from an early Massachusetts estate. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS!!!
