The biblical account of creation does not specifically speak of the creation of angels. The Holy Fathers state that angels are not explicitly mentioned in the creation for two reasons: the Jews, inclined towards idolatry, would have easily fallen into the idolatrous wandering of the neighboring peoples and that in the book of Creation only the presentation of the beginning of the visible world is followed. Regarding the angelic hierarchy, Dionysius the Areopagite sees nine angelic groups, placed in three superimposed groups: Seraphim, Cherubim, Seats; Lords, Powers, Masters; Beginners, Archangels, Angels. The Church gave its consent to this hierarchy by introducing it in the church painting. Because angels are incorporeal, with them we cannot talk about sex or a transplant of the species (Acts 6:2), therefore, they do not marry, they do not multiply (Matthew 22:30) and they do not die (Luke 20, 35-36). Angels communicate their own thoughts and decisions to each other without speaking. But, to fulfill their job, they can take on a human appearance (II Kings 6:17), they can talk, eat, appear dressed and sometimes wearing wings (Acts 32:25; Luke 24:4; Matthew 28:3; Revelation 14:6).
