Description: Here’s an extremely rare 1920s pressed cloth doll by the Gre Poir company of France. Gre Poir dolls are made of pressed cloth, similar to and competitors of Lenci dolls from the same era, except Gre Poir dolls are made of cotton rather than wool felt. This doll is about 17 inches tall, jointed, with auburn mohair styled in “Marcelled” waves with long curls in back, and brown eyes. She’s in very good condition, but does show her age with water marks and small holes in her body and clothes. These have been treated so they won’t enlarge. For a hundred year old toy she’s in great shape! Her panties, socks, headband, and shoes are vintage 90s reproductions; her organdy dress and slip are the same age as the doll. This doll has the #3 Gre Poir hairstyle; please see the photos of Gre Poir dolls with the other two styles as shown in the Edwards Cloth Dolls book ~ you will see the astronomical value of these dolls!
