Well, speaking for myself - I had quite the Legendary ! Crew of Jokers assembled for this run, and really most of this Entire '92 Summer Tour - as I caught 10 in a row, along with most of the other Stellar Folks in my Touring Crew - who were right there close on double-digits ! ... or darn-near close ! We did the Charlotte > D.C. > Star Lake !! > Soldier Field > Deer Creek > Buckeye portion, and thankfully - only D.C. & Buckeye were 1-Night Stands ! So, you know ... lots of G.D. in so little bit of time ! Just ! like we liked it ... Right-On !! And ... if my memory serves me correctly ? - I'm pretty sure I actually did " Cut My Job & Grew My Hair ! " for This-Tour ! ... just-like that "Classic !!! " '92 Summer Tour Bumper Sticker in the Lot read !! - Ha ! And so ... here-was the skinny on these Shows --- the anticipation & Dead Fan emotions were running Red-Hot ! as they had just Dropped a Heavy-Duty ! G.D. Bomb - or, should I say Blast from the Past !! ... in the form of just Crushing ! Casey Jones right out of Drums > Space at RFK ... for the 1st time ! since the B.C.T. in November of '84 !!! And I mean ... this was Huge !!! As B.K. even delivered some serious Locomotive Air-Horn ! sounds through his stage mics, right before we were All ! ... " Driving That Train " !!!!! Just killer ... Well, so then it was Star Lake !! and everyone was pretty pumped up about these Shows, as it was indeed the very 1st time ( and the Last-Time ! too, as it turned out ... ) that the Good Ol' Grateful Dead Touring Machine ! would charge way-upper PA ! And, I'm not even kidding about ' way-upper ', as this ( at the time ... ) seemed like it was pretty close to West Virginia ! - or, at least that's what our Road Map !! was telling me & my Crew. Yeah ... Road Maps !!! I still! love'em !! Classic ... Ha ! But ... to get straight ( kinda ... ) to the point -- the Band too ! must have been Fired-Up for Star Lake, because they Delivered !!!!!!!!! at Both !! of these Shows. In fact, a few in my Crew actually thought that these were the Best-Shows ! overall of the entire run !?! - and especially the 6/23 Show ... as it seriously sounded like the Boys ( or, at least some of them ) had a little ' something-extra ' working for them ( Ha ! ), and ... seriously ! in their collective-favor, as there were times all-throughout - that they were really channeling that " Good Ol' Grateful Dead " feel. Believe it, and ... if you weren't there - most definitely ! check out the tapes. Dang .... one of these days I've got to stop ! saying ' Tapes ' ?!? Or, then again ..... Do I ? Nahhhh ... I say - Nakamichi-for-President !!! Right-on ... Yeah, so - these Shows were just Pure-Muscle ! G.D., at times ... Jack Straw ! - Deal ! - Scarlet > Fire !!! - Victim > Dark Star !! - Spanish Jam ! > Other One !! - Help > Slip > Franklin's !!! - Stagger Lee ! - Big Railroad Blues ! - New Speedway Boogie !!! - Truckin' > Spoonful ! - Sugar Mag !!! Dang, I mean that's what I remember - and, believe it or not ... I'm talking about remembering these Shows ' Vividly ' !!! And, also because it was the only Shows that I ever saw at this place ( a way-cool state-of-the-art corporate style Amphitheatre - with Grate ! Sound !! ) ... when I think back, the memories are still pretty crystal-clear !! You know, I mean it's not like ahhh ... so, which-year was it at that Cap Center Show ? - where, I saw like 15 !!!?! I think back on these Two-Shows, and it's like I can actually ' Hear' the Songs ! ... in my Dead-Head !! - Ha ! Plus, with Two Beautiful ! G.D. Passes !! like these two, it only helps !
