Description: This statuesque, sleek and unusual Göran Wärff vase for Kosta Boda is in outstanding condition. At close to 10 pounds, this heavy work of art reaches a height of 16.5 inches at its pointed spout-like tip. The vase's contemporary design is split in two: Under its front peak, it is half clear glass filled with small controlled bubbles; its back half is white. The diameter of the vase's base, which is clear, is a little over 3 inches. Its interior is pristine. Two very small flaws to note: There are some signs of use on its underside, and a staple-size area of scratching underneath the point itself that is only visible if you turn the vase over for inspection (see last photo). Otherwise it is a magnificent piece by Wärff (1933-2022), the renowned art glass legend who was integral in shaping the Swedish glass tradition at Kosta Boda and elsewhere for over 60 years. The bottom is incised with "8GWAAT 97 4003 Kosta Boda Göran Wärff Atelier."
