Description: "Goya: Engravings and Lithographs, Catalogue Raisonne". Tomas Harris; publ. Bruno Cassirer; two volumes; 1964. This is the seminal work on Goya's printmaking published 60 years ago. This copy was purchased from Foyles bookseller (London) in the late 90's still wrapped in the original plastic. Includes a forward by noted art critic (and infamous British double agent) Anthony Blunt. (Harris himself worked for British MI5 during WWII and most notably worked with the Nazi double agent "Garbo" in the the Normandy Invasion deception of the Germans. It has also been suggested that Harris may have been a Soviet double agent). These two volumes are in near pristine condition: tiny scuff on mid spine Vol II, some sunning tip of spine Vol I, some slight foxing to inside of jacket and edge of pages volume II (not visible when viewing pages, only when volume is closed). Interior and pages immaculate. This copy is likely one of the finest available currently for sale. For the serious collector of Goya's prints, this is the Bible.
