Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Gospel Parallels: A Synopsis of the First Three Gospels, with alternative readings from the Manuscripts and Noncanonical Parallels, edited by Burton H. Throckmorton, Jr. New York: Thomas Nelson & Sons, 1949, 1957; revised second edition; April 1961 printing. No dust jacket. There are many such “gospel parallels,” and this one is generally considered to be the standard. The arrangement follows the Huck-Lietzmann Synopsis, Ninth Edition (1936). A good introductory section gives the background on history, manuscripts, languages, etc. The body of the book is an sequential arrangement of events in the life of Jesus, as recorded in Matthew, Mark, and Luke, with texts from those three accounts on facing pages for easy comparison and integration. Footnotes and other references for further study throughout. Book condition "good" to “very good”: boards and spine are straight and square; binding is solid; no marks in or out, except previous owner’s name label inside from cover; some external wear and fading, but not bad. Careful wrapping and fast shipping. Please look around the store. Lots of books, quilt & cross stitch patterns, car mags & catalogs, home décor, and many more treasures-- and more listed every day. Combined shipping when possible, of course, to save you a few more $$.
