Description: This Gorham spoon is a true piece of history. Crafted from sterling silver (.925) and featuring intricate engravings, this spoon is sure to impress. The brand, Gorham, is known for their high-quality silverware and this spoon is no exception. Perfect for collectors or anyone who appreciates the beauty of antique silverware, this spoon is a must-have addition to any collection. Whether you're using it for dinner or displaying it in your home, this spoon is sure to be a conversation starter. From the Estate of Andrew Cowan. Hero of the Battle of Gettysburg at Cemetery Ridge The Copse of Trees. Father of The Blue and Grey Reunions. His heroic deeds are well known and there is a monument at Gettysburg honoring him and his troops. Irrefutable linage of possession I acquired these and many items from the family estate. Cowan’s life and history are easy to find his obituary was on the front page of the New York Times. Huge platter spoon I believe it’s 1880 Antique Engraved 8 but looks similar to Marguerite and Cherry Blossom. It will be a fit in any engraved pattern really. The Monogram I think is for Conan’s wife Anna Gilbert Cowan born 1840 but could be a script C for Cowan. Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner with this spoon on your turkey platter if conversation goes stale tell them about a Real American Hero used this at his dinners! Ships fully insured signature on delivery. Many terrific items from this historic estate in my store and more coming! Any over shipping costs returned!
