Description: German Handmade (Lauscha, Germany) YEAR 1860s- Early Banded Opaque. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN THIS RARE MARBLE. MAKE ME A FAIR OFFER. ATTENTION GERMAN COLLECTORS. THIS IS THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF A EARLY BANDED OPAQUE. THIS MARBLE EPITOMIZES THE SAYING... "BLACK BEAUTY" Dang.... this is a rare handmade. The Banded Opaques are Early German. In the 1860s range. One of the pontils is faceted. Which is a very good sign. It's earlier then 1880. It is so difficult to find these in mint condition, because they were made with a little softer glass. That if played with at all. They would chip. Beautiful and classic black base glass with white swirled bands. CONDITION- WET MINT with subtle AS MADE cold rolls & a MICRO AS MADE shallow flake. Outside of AS MADES. Which almost all banded opaques have. The marble has no damage. This is one of the cleanest Banded Opaques I've ever had possession of. It must of sat in a desk drawer for 150 some years. The surface has NO pocket wear. Shiny with all of its luster as the day it was first made. The bottom pontil is faceted. The top is intact and untouched. The marble is IN ROUND shape. SIZE- .69 inches. PLEASE VIEW MY OTHER MARBLE LISTINGS. COMBINED SHIPPING OVER A MAX FOUR DAY PERIOD. IMPORTANT...DO NOT PAY... ONCE YOU'RE COMPLETELY DONE BIDDING, MESSAGE ME. THEN I WILL SEND YOU A COMBINED INVOICE. WITH ONE SHIPPING FEE OF $4.99.
