Good ENGLISH ART DECO Sterling 3 Pc CONDIMENT SET-Cobalt Liners-S&M 1937-38

Description: Up for bid is a fun English Art Deco sterling three-piece condiment set with cobalt liners by maker S&M, Birmingham, 1937-38. The set consists of a hinged lid mustard pot, a pepper shaker with screw-on lid, and an open salt cellar with two handles. The mustard pot is about 2 ¼ inches tall, the pepper 3 inches, and the salt 1 1/2 inches. The silver portions weigh a total of 81 grams. The pieces are conical in shape, with stepped feet and angular flat handles. The mustard and salt have their original cobalt blue glass liners. The set has not been monogrammed. The pieces are all marked [S&M] with Birmingham hallmarks for 1937-38. The pepper lid is also partially hallmarked. Condition on the set is fairly good. There is a dent to the top of the salt rim, some small dents to the pepper sides, some interior corrosion and normal wear from use. A cute little sterling condiment set!
