ThanksGoldenrod (Solidago spp.) is a bright and colorful ally for urinary health. You can see these bright yellow plumes waving in the summer winds along ditches and fields, but I have also seen them in the forest as well though not as abundantly. Goldenrod has a strong affinity for the urinary system, especially the kidneys and is helpful when dealing with UTI's or other urinary issues. Goldenrod is a aquaretic agent which simply means it can increase urinary output without reducing electrolyte balance, important if you are using it for edema or water retention issues. Another interesting and beneficial use is for both seasonal and cat allergies. I've seen it's effectiveness for both issues, quite amazing actually. Energetically this plant is warming and drying.Dosages vary depending on use, but I always recommend starting with 3 to 5 drops, 3 to 4 times a day. For many people, the use of natural medicines is an odyssey of learning about themselves. Finding the "right dose" of a particular plant for your body is a lesson and you learn to pay attention to little nuances and signals your body gives you when you have taken too much or not enough. For this reason the dosages on the bottle and website are rather vague. This is to help you find the smallest effective dose for your body. Why take more medicine than you need, right!
