I formed my own ideas until I bought The TarotHandbook: practical applications of ancient visual symbols by AngelesArrien. It became my go to book and I studied the Tarot from this book.I was fascinated with the explanations, the connection to numerology, astrology, and the symbols that connect to ancient times.I met a wonderful friend, Johnelle, who invited me to her group and weheld meditation and spiritual growth classes on a regular basis. Johnellewas an inspiration to me at this time in my life and encouraged me tostart reading for friends. I moved after a couple of years and I startedto hold my own meditation groups and do readings a few days a weekat an alternative bookshop. Around this time Louise Hays books werebecoming popular. I attended a Louise Hay workshop "You can heal yourlife". I did many workshops over the years, numerology being one of myfavourites. "Mind Vision" workshops with Fergus and Trijntje Reilly had abig impact on my direction at the time.I also continued to pursue my other greatpassion for art. I have always had an interest in art and have mademany art quilts. I combined paint with fabric for many years and morerecently made some fine art pieces.In 2016, I was given a grant through the Sunshine Coast Council to helpme in the printing of Gold Lotus. I was extremely grateful to receivethis as it was a long, competitive process. This grant was a turningpoint in my commitment to knowing I was on the right path and thatmany people would benefit from Gold Lotus all over the world.The inspiration for the artwork for Gold Lotus is a mixture of guidancefrom my angels as well as my imagination. When some of the imagescame to me, I would begin the initial drawings then build on them toexplore the colour and the higher intent behind the work.Gold Lotus oracle deck is multifaceted in that the deck can be usedalone for guidance, in a reading for others and included in healingpractices.
