Description: I knew Grace and loved her work at least as much as that of her more well-known husband, watercolorist Sam Colburn. Great company is this very large soothing, strong and comforting image of a woman holding a cat-whose white color is rendered in true watercolor form by witholding any paint. The cat's tail magically wrapped over her shoulder making her to be somewhat under its thrall. In researching her background I see that on her website this painting has a place of honor, and it is priced accordingly as being iconic of her work. I have included the website pages so you can better see the image that I had a hard time photographing without reflections. Nicely framed 25 and 3/4 inches by 33 and 1/2 with about an inch of undermat showing the deckle edges of the painting. It is heavy because of the size of the frame and glass and handling charge is meant to help pack it so it ships safely. It was very nicely framed by the Cypress Frame Shop in Carmel, CA with their label.
