Description: About This Item: Up for sale is a set of Girl with Sunbonnet bookends from Nuart Creations (logo on back at bottom right) from the 1930's. We were told these were called Sunbonnet Lass and based on Sunbonnet Sue, a Kate Greenaway design. Height is approximately 7 1/4 inches, width is 4 inches at widest point, depth is 3 inches. These are made of metal, very sturdy and heavy. There is some overall paint loss and a few spots where the gold paint and underlying white coat is missing, showing the dark metal below. Each bookend has a small hole between the ankles (see last photos); we have seen other sets where it appears this was closed up but not sure if this was a result of the manufacturing process. These are as found, leaving it to new owner to decide if new paint or other restoration is warranted.
