Description: This is a displayed sword since purchased new. Smoke free home and ready to ship. The sword is one that Gil designed to commemorate his 40 years of knifemaking. Gil started making knives in 1957; this sword is as bright and sharp as when it came off the cutler's bench. This sword measures 24-3/4" overall, with an 18" double-edged blade that is marked on one side with Gil Hibben's signature, "40th Anniversary" and the sword's serial number: "1189". The other side is marked: "UC1098/ Stainless/ Taiwan". The guard is 5" wide; both the guard and pommel are plated in pure gold. Two counter-guards (4-3/8" wide) flank the blade. The handle is made of alternating bands of brass and two colors of hardwood, simulating a hornet's body. And the pommel has a "skull-crusher" stinger on the end.
