Even without considering the fact that George Harrison and Eric Clapton used the '64 SG STD, 1964 was clearly a significant model year for the SG model. The side-pull vibrato was replaced by the Maestro tremolo, and the neck was thickened to resemble the neck profile of a 1959 Les Paul. The balance, playability and looks of the SG model were all over the place. With this history as a backdrop, the Custom Shop is proud to release the 1964 SG Standard Reissue, a new addition to the family of Historic Reissue models. With top-of-the-line specs such as solid mahogany, hide glue bonding, vintage replica parts, and a three-dimensional cherry finish that makes use of the red color of the filler, this guitar retains the sound and looks of the vintage SG for the modern era. *We apologize, but due to the nature of the product, we are unable to sell this product at other Ishibashi Music stores.
