Description: This is a 2-volume set of Emile Zola's Germinal. Published by the Lutetian Society of London; translated by Haverlock Ellis; etchings reproduced from Pierre Vidal's paintings; set is numbered 123 on the inside. There is no year noted inside, but most likely between 1890’s to the early 1900s. These books were offered to Lutetian Society members, so not many were printed. These 2 books have normal wear/rubbing to the outside and edges with some yellowing to the pages, else they are clean and tight. Books are in excellent condition for their age.
