Up for auction is a top piece Scheibe Alsbach Figurine from Germany The figurine is also called Napoleon’s Flight It depicts Napoleon fleeing Russia in a sleight pulled by three horses Featuring a realistically modeled figural grouping depicting a three-horse sleigh driven by a bearded man racing through the snow with Napoleon and an officer sitting in the back. PLEASE NOTE: While the reigns are still attached to Napoleons hands, they are very brittle and broke so they are not attached to the horses - please see pictures. Otherwise, this piece is in exceptional condition. This antique original is marked on base with Scheibe Alsbach blue S mark, and unlike on later copies words “Made in GDR” are not inscribed, nor “Made in…” indicating that it could be as old as ca 1st half of 19th century (early 1800s) and latest 1920’s (after which “Made in” started to be used globally).
