Description: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a Vintage beer stein from Germany. My great aunt brought it back in 1949, so it is at least that old. On the front it says "Dem guten kinde" which means "To the good child". It is 4 1/2 inches tall. It is in excellent condition, but there is a tiny chip at the base, visible in the last picture. There is crazing, consistent with its age of nearly 75 years. The word "Germany" is pressed into the bottom. Alcohol consumption in Europe by minors was widespread then.
