Description: Original County Series Geological Survey of Scotland Map Fifeshire XXVIII. NW, covering the Glenrothes, Markinch, Coaltown of Balgonie and Milton of Balgonnie areas of Fife, on a scale of Six Inches to One Statute Mile. The map was originally geologically surveyed during the 1800s, revised and thereafter published in 1954 by Sir William J. Pugh, Director, Geological Survey. The map is printed on thick paper and measures approximately 46cm x 30cm, with titles, notes, stamps, legends and scale bars on the wide margins. The whole sheet measures approximately 72cm x 46cm. The map is generally in very good condition, although has been folded along the bottom and right map edges (see photos).
