Description: This amazing skirt is an authentic Victorian wonder!Found in a scrap bin, these panels were already sewntogether, but was folded flat without a waistband. Fortunately, I was able to rescue it! Made of a lightweight 100% silk taffeta fabric in a chocolate brown plaid, this was hand sewn and iscirca early 20th century (but could be older). I have gathered the panels and attached them to a waistband made of a printed cotton. Featuring a flat front, tight gathers, and an open backplacket, this has no closures so you can custom fitthe waist by overlapping at the back as needed. In good condition, the fabric does have flaws. There are small holes, tears, and abrasions throughout. Fortunately, the volume of the skirt folds hides alot of sins! I have machine sewn it with a 1” foldedhemline, and I graded the top (to eliminate somedamaged areas) so this skirt has a small 5-6” train. The fabric is delicate, but wearable. Please refer to the measurements below for an accurate fit. It looks great with the ruffled blouse listed separately, so please check out all my inventory!
