He was the Commanding General of the Union Army and led the Union to a victory in the Civil War. General Grant was a war hero and would go on to be unanimously nominated by the Republican party and elected President in 1869. Grant was the 18th President of the United States and served from 1869-1877. Grant was definitely a colorful and interesting character of the old West. Please note while this figure does not look exactly like General Ulysses S. Grant, there is a nice resemblance. Figure designed mainly for display purposes for the wild west fan.
