In full: "Dear Curtis: Thanks for your congratulatory note of the twenty-first and the Bakon-Yeast, which you sent to my friends. I heard from several of them and they certainly like it. I had to call in a local stenographer to help clean up my holiday mail and have learnt something about native transcription." Gene Tunney (1897-1978) captured the world heavyweight boxing crown by defeating Jack Dempsey in a unanimous 10-round decision (1926), won a 10-round rematch after coming back from a controversial long count (1927), picked up one more easy purse and then retired (1928). His son John was a Senator from California (1971-1977). Normal mailing folds. Lightly toned. Staple holes. Corners slightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
