Description: Gemtune KT88 single ended HIFI amp. This amp is in perfect working condition with no known issues. However sold as is for “parts” since buyer will need to provide a set of tubes and bias the amp. This amp does NOT have cathode bias, therefore bias will need to be done via the two potentiometers shown on the top of the chassis, if you don’t know how to do this or don’t have access to a knowledgeable tech then don’t buy. I have no plans on babysitting/consulting persons who can’t figure out what to do, or damaging amp/tubes, I don’t want to sound harsh however the last SE amp I sold the person could not even plug the tubes into the correct positions, if this may be you don’t buy the amp! Center tube socket is for the rectifier tube 5U4, the two sockets next to the rectifier socket are for the 6sn7 preamp tubes, and the remaining sockets (outer ones) are for the KT88/6550 output tubes. Amp has a standard choke pi filter, cascade 6sn7 preamp and standard SE output arrangement, screen grids are fixed, no ultra linear tap. Output has 4/8 ohm taps. VU meters are backlit. Good sounding amp without blowing a ton of cash on 300B or similar, works well if set up for KT66’s as well with properly set bias. Nice heavy duty chassis and is point to point wired. This amp has been in my collection for a long time and I need to free up some space therefore offering for sale.
