Description: Local stamp for Lindisfarne or Holy Island, the famous island off the Northumberland coast reached by a tidal causeway.The stamp was prepared and issued by a philatelist and islands-enthusiast on a visit to the islands of North-East England and is believed to be only the second local stamp issue of the present century for Lindisfarne or Holy Island, following the earlier issue of 2012 (now sold out). An earlier philatelist and islands-enthusiast, the late Ken Gibson, also created local issues for the island in the late 1980s. The island is served by a Royal Mail post office.300 stamps were printed, of which 30 were used on postcards mailed from the island, posted in the Royal Mail postbox outside the island's Post Office.Issue date 23 May 2022.
