Description: Gasteria Carinata Verrucosa Gasteria Carinata : Verrucosa is a beautiful dark green, thick wart-leafed succulent plant native to South Africa. _____________________________ The natural range of this species is the southern stretch of Western Cape Province, endemic to the eastern part of the Western Cape south of the Riviersonderend and Langeberg Mountains, where it occurs in arid rocky areas. _____________________________ Like most Gasteria it forms pleasing clumps of plantlets. Lovely racemes of dangling tubular pinkish flowers bloom during spring and are beloved by hummingbirds. _____________________________ Gasteria is generally a forgiving and tolerant genus — fast-growing, vigorous and easy to cultivate. _____________________________ Popular and undemanding indoor / outdoor succulents, Gasteria are hardy plants tolerant of some neglect, and infrequent watering. _____________________________ The key to growing healthy Gasterias is a fast-draining and not particularly rich soil. _____________________________ While Gasteria are okay with some shade, decent sunlight will ensure compact growth habits, attractive leaf coloration and abundant flowers. _____________________________ Preferring light shade or morning sun in very hot areas, They are suitable for growing indoors as houseplants, greenhouse plants or in frost-free rock gardens. They take very well to container culture. _____________________________ • Drought Tolerant • Suitable for Xeriscaping PLEASE READ CAREFULLY For sale is a rooted leaf pup specimen taken from the strong and healthy 'mother' plants in my collection as shown above. You will receive a leaf cluster with beginner roots ready for planting. Gasteria forms thick solitary trailing roots so expect only a few on these pups rather than dense rootballs. Gasterias evolved to abandon their roots during extended dry periods and concentrate sustenance in the leaves. Thus your specimen may or may not have significant root material, though it will have root buds from which new roots will rapidly form & grow once planted. Specimens typical of those for sale are shown in the picture directly below this text. This is of course a living product of nature with natural variation. At a guaranteed minimum you will receive at least one nice cluster of leaves ready for planting as shown below: Fine naturally formed reproductive specimens — healthy and good to grow — EASY INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED TYPICAL SPECIMEN SIZES — . YOU WILL RECEIVE PROPAGATIVE PLANT PUP SPECIMEN(S) SIMILAR IN SIZE TO THE EXAMPLES SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH DIRECTLY ABOVE THIS TEXT. NOTE PENCIL + INCH / CM MARKERS TO INDICATE SCALE. They grow well.
