Asbestos References: Catalog contains information on Garlock products that were available in 1925. Garlock gave a product number to each item for ease in the use of identification. Many of the products in this catalog contain descriptions of the product material, what it was used for, and an accompanying illustration. There is a 25 page section on Asbestos Packing Service where there are descriptions and pictures of the different kinds of asbestos packing. Some of which included gear, throttle, air pump, ring, coil, beaver, rotary pump, rotopac coil, spiral and alabestine packing. There is a 10 page section on Gasket Service, featuring asbestos products. Some of these products included: Autoline Gaskets – recommended for use on internal combustion engines. Oil Resisting Compressed Asbestos Fibre Gaskets – for use against superheated steam, air, gas, ammonia and most chemicals. High Pressure Wire Inserted Asbestos Gaskets – excellent for use on cylinder heads of combustion engines. High Pressure Folded Asbestos Gaskets – for use on boiler man holes and hand hole covers. There is a 10 page section on Sheet Packing Service which describes and illustrates Asbestos Sheet Packing products. The book has minor wear from use. Previous owner filled in their name and address at the front. There are no locations of writing, underlining or highlighting of the text that I could find from a cursory review. Binding is tight & square with no loose pages.
