Description: Here is the second Pillivuyt terrine that I just brought back from Paris. It is similar to the Partridge one already listed. It too is vintage "trompe l’oeil" in excellent condition and was manufactured by Pillivuyt, a French porcelain company established 200 years ago. The sculpted lid is made to look like a baked pastry crust with the entire terrine resembling a "pate en croute." There is a small hole in the lid designed to release steam while cooking. These terrines are highly collectable. The bird on top here is a hand-painted pheasant. They come in several sizes with different birds or rabbits on the lid. This one measures 8 3/4” long and 6” tall, slightly taller and wider than the partridge. It stamped "Piillivuyt 731 France” on the underside. Has a nice sheen to the glaze and appears to have never been used. They look great together. Will combine shipping. Happy to answer questions or send more pictures. Will ship internationally at cost.Problem? Let me know and I will do my best to make it right. _gsrx_vers_1608 (GS 9.5 (1608))
