Absolutely wonderful oil on canvas featuring an Arab Camp on the River, Landscape with Mountains, horses (Horse Race), Mountains and Ruins, signed and dated 1869 at lower right, presented in a later frame that measures 94,5 cm wide by 54,5 cm high. Prosper Barbot (French, 1798-1878)Prosper Barbot studied and worked alongside several of the greatest Neoclassical artists of the 19th century, including Louis Watalet and Jean-Baptiste Corot. He spent several years in Italy and returned to France in 1828. From 1841 he was a regular exhibitor at the Salon.
