Description: An original etching and aquatint from an important French printmaker, Georges Rouault (1871-1958). It is titled "Le Cirque", alternatively "Le Jongleur" and was published in Paris, 1927. This example is a trial proof printed in black ink on off white wove paper, it is signed and dated in reverse on the plate. The image measures 9 x 6 1/4 inches, sheet size is approx. 12 3/4 x 10 inches with a deckel edge on the left side. Aside from a little handling grime to the reverse, it is in excellent condition with good margins.
