Medal commemorating Catherine de' Medici, Queen Consort of France from 1547 - 1559. Edge marked BRONZE with cornucopia privy mark. 2 1/16" / 52 mm., struck in bronze. The pictures may look a little fuzzy around the perimeter due to the high relief not scanning well. The medal itself is very sharply and evenly struck. I tried taking photos with my camera but wasn't able to get the color to come out well, the color from the scanner is just about the exact color of the medal.
