Unparalleled quality and craftsmanship traditionally reserved for the French Nobility!!! This is an Original 19th Century Gold Plated Mantel Clock, Louis XVI Model, French Gold Plated bronze mantel clock, by Vincenti & Cie was a Paris Clockmaker founded before 1834 by Jean Vincenti. It went out of business in about 1870. The mark on the clock indicates that the company won a silver medal at the 1855 Universal Exposition in Paris-which means the clock was made after 1855 but before 1870. You will see the clock case resembles the clock case styles that were manufactured by Ferdinand Barbedienne", and it is Absolutely Stunning. CONDITION::: It is in excellent condition......It is running and working. It makes a very silent tic toc. You need to be in a very quit room or standing near it to hear. Even though I am sure it is suppose to make a chime it never has. I see no arm to strike the coils with. Nor do I see anything broken off. I am sure someone with more knowledge of clocks would see what minor thing needed to happen to make it strike the chime. You are looking a a 14k gold gilded clock. It is bright and shinny. My photo's are not the best but it calls for attention no matter which direction you have it placed. The back is nearly as interesting as the front. The glass covering the face is really special beveled edge convex glass. The face is in extremely good condition with maybe a tiny dot here or there. They may even wipe off but I have never rubbed anything across the face. The back of the clock with the glass covered door opened shows the original clock mechanism, Spring and pendulum. This is a French Movement and is signed by Renowned Clock maker "Medaille D' Argent Vincenti" Certifying the Piece's Quality and Provenance. Numbers under the name and still in the stamp area looks like C12 and 188. 52 in at the very bottom on the edge with some very tiny numbers that are hard to identify. This clock is a stunning masterpiece. Measurements:::: It measures roughly 20 in Tall x 12 in wide x 7 in deep Weight:::: Is approximately 24 lbs
