Description: DANIEL VIGNEAU (LE BOUSCAT, 25 MARCH, 1881 – BOULOGNE-BILLANCOURT, 6 MARCH, 1970) He studied singing under Duvernoy at the Paris Conservatory, where he won a prize. He made his debut at the Paris Opéra-Comique in 1907 and performed there for the next twenty years. On May 15, 1914, he sang the role of Ali in the premiere of Henri Rabaud's opera Marouf. That same year, he also appeared in the premiere of Manuel de Falla's La vida breve. In 1908, he created the role of Mizgir in the Paris premiere of Rimsky-Korsakov's Snegourotchka.At the Opéra-Comique, he was involved in several important premieres, including Gabriel Pierné's On ne badine pas avec l'amour in 1910 and Xavier Leroux's Le Carilloneur in 1913. He also performed successfully in Nice and Monte Carlo. In 1924, he sang at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris in the premiere of Léon Sachs's Les Burgraves and appeared at the Opera House in Monte Carlo in the premiere of Édouard Chabrier's Une Éducation manquée. He had guest engagements in Holland in 1924 and 1928, and his career extended into the years following World War II.
