French 19th Century Adorned Pillow From Globe De Mariee Glass Wedding Dome

Description: This antique mid-19th century decorative display piece is a firmly stuffed velvet pillow that was originally part of an antique wedding display called "globe de Mariee" or wedding keepsake that were kept under a glass dome that sat upon a wooden base. This listing is just for the decorated pillow as the glass dome arrived to me broken during shipping. It was the first thing I ever nought on Ebay when eBay was brand new. It came from France and although the dome was unusable, the pillow still made a pretty decorative item. The pillow is 9" square and 7" tall, mot counting the gilded metal oval base the pillow rests upon. Upon the base the height with the pillow is 9" tall. overall. If one wanted to find an empty dome to house it, it shouldn't be too hard to find these days with the internet. Please consider my photos as part of my description. I 've tried to take as many photos as possible to show all the decoration on the pillow. These items are securely attached. There is some fading and age and it is a little dusty but it is still an appealing piece. There is heavy gold braid on the edges of the pillow, with gilt metal tassels on each corner. Wax buds, leaves. and blossoms, as well as tiny wax flowers are entwined on stems and attached to the pillow. It is possible that part of the wax garland is actually the bride's wax orange blossom headdress or bridal crown as I ' ve had many of them over the years.
