Description: FREDERICK "Fritz" SOLOMON (1899-1980) German Expressionist artist. Original charcoal drawing, unsigned, approx. 17 x 12 in. paper size. Comes with biographical information. This is, without doubt, by Solomon and guaranteed to be so without a time limit. Solomon won the Mowbray Prize [1944] in London; was listed in WHO'S WHO IN ART [1954 London edition]. He studied art with such famous German artist's as: Max Liebermann, Martin Brandenburg, Eugene Spiro & Willy Jaeckel [Masterclass]. Exhibitions: Berlin, Cologne, Capetown, Haifa, London [Royal Academy], U.S., and in 1958 had one-man show at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Havana, Cuba. In 1956 several of his paintings were exhibited at the Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio. He died in the U.S. We purchased his personal papers and most of his drawings at his estate sale. His work is fairly scarce. VG.
