Paris, November 19, 1846. 21 x 13.5 cm. The handwritten document in French, prepared by a representative of the publishing company, signed by the composer "F. Chopin." "Recu de Monsieur Brandus...pour la propriete pour la France de mes oeuvres 60, 61, 62l la somme de Douze cent francs. Paris le 19 9bre [=Novembre] 1846." In fine condition. A great rarity.Acknowledgement of receipt of an advance payment from the Parisian music publishing company originated by Louis Brandus (1816 - 1887) in 1846 as Brandus & Cie. when he purchased the publishing firm of Maurice Schlesinger, until then Chopin's primary publisher in France. From 1846 to 1847, Brandus published the final of Chopin's works, including those listed in the present document: the F-major Barcarolle, op. 60 (composed and published for the first time in 1846), the Polonaise-Fantaisie in A-flat major, op. 61 (the last Polonaise by Chopin, composed and published in 1846), and the and two haunting and mysterious Nocturne, op. 62 (composed 1845-1846 and published 1846).
