Frank Bridge was an English composer (1879 -1941) re-discovered here 30+ years after his death. Bridge privately taught Benjamin Britten, who later championed his teacher's music and paid homage to him in the Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge (1937), based on a theme from the second of Bridge's Three Idylls for String Quartet (1906). The Allegri String Quartet were founded in 1953 and have had numerous members: this recording features Bruno Schrecker, David Roth, Hugh Maguire, and Patrick Ireland. Condition: Cleaned/Played*. Very Good Plus vinyl, very little signs of wear and only very occasional background noise commensurate with age (see video clip with photos). Cover intact, showing edge wear/discolouration (see photos).
