Description: Maurice Delannoy bronze medal This superb Art Deco medal is by Maurice Delannoy. The obverse depicts a woman standing in front of a man looking left with their hands outstretched towards sunrays. It is signed "M Delannoy". The reverse is blank except for the top segment that depicts a seated boy holding a small trident and looking right at an orb and wood on a plinth with his right hand on a seated dog with fruits cascading down behind the dog. The rim is stamped "Bronze" Approximate dimensions: Weight: 3 3/8ozs - 98gms Diameter: 2.36ins - 6cms Maurice Delannoy, (1885 – 1972) French sculptor and engraver of coins and medals. He studied at the Ecole Germain Pilon where he was a pupil of Charles Valton & Jules Edward Roine He was an associate of and exhibited at the Society of French Artists and received a bronze medal in 1923 and a silver medal in 1926.
