Description: These four unposted postcards feature views of "The Breakers" in Newport, Rhode Island. Considered one of the grandest of the Gilded Age summer residences in Rhode Island, it was built between 1893 and 1895 for Cornelius Vanderbilt II. These are standard size postcards (4" x 5 3/4") in excellent condition with virtually no sign of wear (unless noted below) Included in this collection are: Aerial view of the estate The Music Room Mrs. Whitney's Bedroom The Great Hall - pencil writing on reverse side of postcard, probably notes from a tour of the mansion.
