Description: 5.4 oz example of petrified soft tissue . The pictures do no justice to the color/hues seen by the naked eye. The exposed bones can be easily examined in a standard embryonic/fetal position shared by numerous Late Cretaceous herbivorous species that thrived in the area. The head is a partially exposed skull as well as flesh and skin tissue. The underside of the specimen has great fleshy areas which are a sunburn red alongside exposed bone in. It honestly looks like a partially eaten chicken wing. Partial bone exposure then full flesh. This fossil comes to life when placed under some faucet water. Sinew and tissue can be examined in areas alongside outer skin and bone. Superb example which needs to be seen with the naked eye to really appreciate how much it has going on . Part of my large personal collection, all of which I dug out/unearthed myself. I don't post fossils a lot but I have to give credit to Chi Eng Goo, the author of the Petrified Embryology series, for everything I have learned . A very kind, generous and extremely smart man whose work I recommend to every person who thinks they know all about their local fossil record. Another level of Paleontology and Geology far ahead of the Texas curriculum. I can assure you that the Big Bend region of Texas is not the only region with a dinosaur fossil record in the State, contrary to popular outdated doctrine. Delve into some of his research and body of written work on X , which he shares at no cost.
