Description: Vintage article the FORREST J ACKERMAN collection being donated to the city of Los Angeles in The Los Angeles Times for April 26, 1982. Full eight page section, 13 1/2" x 23". Very good condition. Article is on the first page and continues on two inside pages. Only the article itself is shown above but this is the complete uncut newspaper section. This was a big deal at the time because the city was going to build a museum to house the collection. But then the city ran into budget shortfalls and the whole thing fell apart. Forry spent years trying to find a home for his collection so that it would remain intact beyond his lifetime, but it wasn't to be. At one point West Germany was going to take the collection but then German unification came along and the new government wasn't interested. Forry's collection started being sold off in 2002 with the rest of it auctioned off after his death in 2008. Buyer pays for priority mail or media mail (mailed in a box).
