Description: FOLK OF THE WOODS by Lucius Crocker Pardee. Illustrated by Charles Livingston Bull. Doubleday, Page & Company, 1913. First edition. Medium hardcover, 129 pages. With 9 color plates and a number of black and white illustrations. The "ex libris" bookplate of renowned Minnesota wildlife artist Les Kouba is pasted to the front endpaper (quite appropriately, considering the wildlife illustrations found in the book). Good condition. No dust jacket. Some rubbing to the boards. Some moderate spine slant. Some bumps and/or scuffs at the head and tail of the spine, at the board corners, and along the board edges. The bookplate has caused a little waviness along the top edge of the front endpaper. The color frontispiece page has some creases and tiny tears along the fore-edge. Light yellowing to the pages, with a little dust-soiling on a few pages. There is some splitting between a few page sets, but the binding is still holding firm. A unique association copy.
