Description: Fire Rainbows, Double Rainbows, Regular Rainbows, Halo Rainbows... Florida rainbows are just as prolific and beautiful as Hawaii's, with one of the main contributors, the Sun, being a factor in both shows. While some may argue that Florida does not get as much Sun as say... California or New Mexico. Florida is the closest landbound U.S. state to the equator, with Hawaii being the closest state to the equator all around. Not only that, but we must remember that the Sun does rise on the East Coast... Therefore we get to bask in its warmth first. The closer to the equator, the hotter it is, as well as more Sun. More Sun means more rainbows. A rainbow is caused by the refraction or dispersion of sunlight through rain or other water droplets, like thin clouds, suspended in the air. These small droplets act as a prism, separating a spectrum of light and colors that can streak across the horizon. I have personally seen about 5 rainbows going all different directions over a field in Hastings, Fl. The morning sun hit the dew and clearing fog just right. It was amazing. The field looked like the rays from a prism... Absolutely beautiful and I have never seen anything like it again.Wear a small reminder of Florida's rainbows with this adorable little enamel Rainbow pin.
